Jamie Gillis has passed away at the age of 66 after battling cancer.  A true New Yorker, Gillis was born in New York and died in New York.  In lieu of flowers Jamie has requested that donations be made to the New York Police Athletic League, a charity group that he credited with helping him out as a child.

Sony has quantified its latest round of pink slips at 450 layoffs or nearly 7% of the Culver City studio’s worldwide work force of 6,800 employees.

Another 100 open positions will be eliminated. More than half of the layoffs will hit its home-entertainment division and various areas of IT staffing, reflecting a continuing industrywide decline in DVD revenue. Most of the pink slips will affect U.S. employees. Read more

Penthouse/Friend Finder Networks is one of the biggest financiers of piracy via it’s Adult Friend Finder affiliate program.  Now the company is going public in a last ditch effort to stay in business.  From DailyFinance.com:

FFN, which is not profitable, has a mere $32 million in cash on hand and $650 million in liabilities, according to Crain’s New York. Of that, $44.5 million comes due on July 31, 2010, and the company is already saying that it will run into a “material deficiency in our short-term liquidity” if it can’t restructure. To make matters worse, the company has a negative net worth of $118 million. It’s not a pretty picture for investors, which makes it appear that this strategy probably won’t work.

Let’s hope that it doesn’t.  FFN CEO Marc Bell reigned over the Penthouse empire while Adult Friend Finder along with studios like Brazzers kept piracy sites in business.  Karma is a bitch Marc, and she’s in heat.

As of today January 25th, 2010…Operation: Takedown Piracy has removed over 268,000 files from piracy sites!

I suggest you do some research on who you do business with I already did.  I told you Brazzers owns many of these sites (try dns lookups)

If you write checks to brazzers you are writing checks to the owners of the largest tube sites. If you don’t like that idea then maybe you should reconsider your business relationship, if yer OK with that then at least have the balls to say so.

I don’t need to rehash why tube sites are bad everyone already has heard that, ad nauseam. They get it believe me.

Revenues in November were less than October…December was worse than November and January will be down from December…other IVRs in the midwest that do lots of adult are also down.

SANTA FE, N.M. (AP) - An observant state police officer has busted two Albuquerque men for pirating dozens of movies.

The officer stopped to check on the men after seeing that their pickup truck had a flat tire. They had been driving on the inside shoulder of a road south of Santa Fe on New Year’s Eve.

While talking to the driver, the officer saw a large box in the back seat. It was filled with movies, many of which were new releases currently being shown in theaters.
