Jamie Gillis has passed away at the age of 66 after battling cancer. A true New Yorker, Gillis was born in New York and died in New York. In lieu of flowers Jamie has requested that donations be made to the New York Police Athletic League, a charity group that he credited with helping him out as a child.

BARSTOW • Before tentatively approving a permitting system and fees for filming within city limits, the Barstow City Council discussed how such a system would apply to adult films and what city officials could do to regulate them.
The Council voted 4-1 in favor of a resolution Monday that would require commercial filmmakers and photographers to pay a $100 flat fee and a $500 security deposit to work within city limits. Councilman Tim Saenz, whose motion to table the issue failed by a 2-3 vote, dissented. The issue will be brought back before Council for another vote in March. Read more

(CN) - The record industry lost a court battle in Norway against an Internet service provider that refused to block access to the popular file-sharing Web site The Pirate Bay.
The Oslo court said Norwegian law doesn’t allow a judge to order an ISP to block traffic to sites that facilitate illegal downloading, the AFP reported.
The Pirate Bay uses bit torrent technology, or peer-to-peer links, that allow users to share music, film and computer game files. But none of the copyrighted material is stored on The Pirate Bay server.
Telenor claimed the request by Tono, Norway’s performing rights society, and others amounted to censorship.
Tono argued that the European directive on intellectual property “has not been correctly implemented in Norwegian law.”
According to the Norwegian court, Telenor “does not contribute to behavior that is reprehensible or could be subject to awarding compensation,” the AFP reported.

The advert, in an adult magazine, promised: “Act out your fantasies on film, Earn Big Bucks. Adult movie xtras needed now!”
However the man said he paid thousands of pounds upfront but the roles never materialised.
He complained to the Advertising Standards Authority, saying that the advert, for Xtreme Red, had not made it clear that extras would need to pay large sums up front. Read more
