DAYTON — U.S. Senate candidate Eric W. Deaton said he will defend himself against “false allegations” of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor in a case that police say includes an audio tape of Deaton admitting sexual contact with the girl.

Deaton, 42, of New Lebanon was indicted Tuesday, Aug. 31, by a Montgomery County Grand Jury on the third-degree felony. The indictment alleges that between March 20, 2006, and March 25, 2007, Deaton engaged in sexual conduct with a girl who was between the ages of 13 and 15.

Deaton, is a Constitution Party candidate who on Tuesday said the indictment was politically motivated. During a news conference at the law offices of Rion and Rion on Wednesday , Deaton said he is fortunate to live in a country where he can defend himself against the charge. A senior Manitoba judge is facing allegations that nude photographs of her engaged in bondage and other sexual acts were posted on the Internet by her husband three years before she was appointed a judge.

A former nurse at a secure state center for sexual predators has pleaded guilty to cocaine charges related to a smuggling scheme that saw her lover — a rapist — receive drugs and pornography while detained at the McNeil Island facility.

Jailed since June after violating conditions of her pretrial release, ex-Special Commitment Center nurse Barbara Boardman pleaded guilty misdemeanor charges filed against her in U.S. District Court following an FBI investigation into contraband at the facility.

Indonesia has threatened to close BlackBerry service in the country if it refuses to block pornographic content. Indonesian Communication and Information Minister Tifatul Sembiring said on Tuesday that he had requested the Canada-based Research In Motion, the maker of BlackBerry, to block adult content for its service in the country, Xinhua said, citing local media reports.

“If they are still not responding to our request, we have to close it down,” the minister said.

According to the minister the banning on pornographic site on the internet is in line with the country’s 2008 anti-pornography law. “RIM may violate our law if it remains providing porn content in its service (in Indonesia),” Tifatul said.

An Ohio truck driver has pleaded guilty to manslaughter after his rig hit a disabled car on a New York highway while his laptop computer streamed pornography.Authorities say Thomas Wallace of Brook Park, Ohio, had little sleep before the Dec. 12 crash on the New York State Thruway that killed Julie Stratton of Snyder, N.Y.

He pleaded guilty Tuesday to second-degree manslaughter.

Stratton hit a deer and her car was disabled in the passing lane shortly before Wallace’s tractor-trailer struck it from behind. The accident happened in Pembroke, about 20 miles east of Buffalo.

The 45-year-old trucker faces five to 15 years in prison when he is sentenced in September.
