UK — ANGRY campaigners are pleading for the red light to be given to plans for more X-rated city centre entertainment.
In what would be a fifth club in Newcastle city centre, an application has been made to the city council to open a new ‘gentlemen’s club’ on Dean Street.
Called Baby Platinum, the club will offer nude dancing and alcohol from 11am until 3.30am on Monday to Saturday and from noon until 3.30am on Sundays. Read more

GREELEY, Colo. — A man who told officers he was a medical marijuana provider has been arrested for allegedly standing naked in a Colorado highway, pounding on passing cars and spitting at a state trooper. MERRIMACK, N.H. - After being told that she could not use the restroom of the Merrimack Police Department, a woman peed on the side of the building in plain view of Lisa’s Tippy Toes Daycare.
Marta M. Marquez, 28, of Boston, had responded to the police station with two male parties regarding a warrant issue. When the group requested to use the restroom, they were denied due to Department policy and related security concerns. Read more

ARKANSAS - A sexually oriented business has shut down after being told it was in violation of zoning laws in Pulaski County. Pulaski County sheriff’s deputies visited the business on MacArthur Drive in the county between North Little Rock and Oak Grove Monday after Sheriff Doc Holliday received personal complaints about it.
Captain Jim Dixon and Lt. Timothy Hibbs visited the business at 4614 Aspen Drive. The lawmen said it was an adult oriented business named The Silo, although it displayed no signs. Read more

A dancer was attacked and killed outside her Everett apartment building early this morning, shortly after she finished work at a strip club in Stoughton, authorities said.
The bloody body of Sheila Santos, 26, was found near the back entrance of her brick apartment building on Main Street. Investigators believe she was killed shortly after leaving work at 1:15 a.m. at Alex’s in Stoughton, putting her time of death between 1:30 a.m. and 2:30 a.m. At an afternoon press conference, Middlesex District Attorney Gerald T. Leone Jr. would not say how Santos had been killed or speculate about a motive.

DAVIS, CA - University of California Davis officials admitted Thursday that the school made a major error in reporting the number of forcible sex offenses committed on campus. But in an unusual twist, the number of reported cases were actually over-represented.
“It’s not uncommon for campuses nationally who have programs like ours on their campuses to have higher reporting numbers,” victims advocate Marisa Messier with the UC Davis Campus Violence Prevention Program said.

Mikhail Malyshev, the former Citadel Investment Group LLC executive sued by that firm for building his own business while allegedly bound by a noncompete contract, told a judge about how he created a $1 billion high-frequency trading system there and about his penchant for pornography.
Malyshev’s testimony came on the third day of a hearing in Chicago in which Citadel is asking Illinois state court Judge Mary Rochford to block the Russian-born executive from starting Teza Technologies LLC. Citadel’s lawyers say Teza is competing with their client. Read more
Mikhail Malyshev, the former Citadel Investment Group LLC executive sued for allegedly launching a competing firm, denied intentionally erasing evidence related to a lawsuit aimed at blocking his business.
Citadel, in a July complaint, accused Malyshev of breaking a promise not to compete with the $14 billion hedge fund manager. Yesterday during court testimony, he faced questions from that firm’s lawyer about an employee’s alleged theft of computer code from Goldman Sachs Group Inc. and his own erasure of electronic files after being sued. File-sharing site The Pirate Bay is once again in the crosshairs of copyright owners. Google has removed the site’s home page from its search results in response to a complaint it received under the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act.
A search for “The Pirate Bay” Fridays turned up a message at the bottom of the first search-results page that said: “In response to a complaint we received under the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act, we have removed 7 result(s) from this page. If you wish, you may read the DMCA complaint that caused the removal(s) at ChillingEffects.org.” Read more

Stroudsburg, PA — A Stroudsburg man was arrested Thursday on charges he exposed himself to a 64-year-old woman in the parking lot of the PNC Bank at Sixth and Sarah streets in the borough.
Todd J. Bushta, 40, was charged with drunken driving, indecent exposure, open lewdness, harassment, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness. He was arraigned and released on $500 unsecured bail. Read more

MONROE, La. (AP) — A 52-year-old woman was booked Thursday morning with domestic battery after telling police that she cut her boyfriend for trying to have sex with her. In the arrest affidavit, police said the woman’s boyfriend claimed she cut him with a knife when they got into an argument, and police saw a 4-inch gash on his left arm along with several small cuts and scratches.
The woman told police she cut him with a lighter.

Pink Diamonds Club
San Francisco City Attorney Dennis Herrera filed a court petition today to close down a Tenderloin strip club that he called “a notorious public nuisance” and that was the site of a murder in June.
Herrera said the Pink Diamonds Gentlemen’s Club, located at 220 Jones St., had already agreed to an injunction in March that required the club not to operate after 2 a.m., not to allow excessive noise in the neighborhood, and to cease acts of prostitution, drug and alcohol violations, and violent behavior at the club.

IN AN eerie echo of the controversial Bill Henson case in Australia, the Tate Modern gallery in London has withdrawn a controversial work depicting a nude Brooke Shields after a police visit raised concerns it could be deemed child pornography.
The picture, which shows Shields, aged 10, standing naked and with an oiled torso in a bathtub, was created by New York artist Richard Prince from a photograph originally shot in 1975 by a commercial photographer, Gary Gross. Read more
