Welcome to the PR Roundup, where we take all the Press Releases from the previous day, break them down, and give you the facts and point out the bullshit.  And there’s plenty of shit to go around, since just about everyone in this industry is full of it.  So without further delay…let’s get to the PR Roundup.

-AVN is now offering Digital Playground content on it’s VUDU channel.  AVN honcho Paul Fishbein says, “Adult movie fans will be blown away by the quality and eroticism of Digital Playground’s content.  Digital Playground is known for producing state-of-the-art adult movies which are highly demanded and consistently well-reviewed in our pages.”  He forgot to mention that they are also widely available for free on the thousands of pirate websites that AVN supports.  I wrote a story about it…it’s cute…I think you’ll like it.

-Private has released Billionaire from director Alessandro del Mar.  I know I normally bag on all things Pure Play, but I can’t do that on this one.  Speaking from experience, the precursor to Billionaire, the aptly named Millionaire, really sold well for me at the stores I bought for.  So this should be no different.  Private makes really good high-end movies, and they almost always sell great.

-Wicked is offering some really great combo packs featuring some of their biggest hits like Operation Desert Stormy, Space Nuts, Conquest, and Curse Eternal.  Speaking of Wicked…I had a chance to see the packaging for Jessica…errrr jessica drake’s Fallen at a Romantix store yesterday.  I’m hereby ready to award Fallen the 2008 PornNewz.com Best Ridiculously Awesome Packaging Award.

-Content Bandit has inked licensing deals with Wildlfe and Damaged Pictures.  Seems Wildlife will sell their content to anyone these days, be it for online use…or for certain New York studios to repackage as New Releases.  Oh and someone might want to inform Kelli, the marketing director for Content Bandit, that Damaged Pictures isn’t even in business anymore.  Here’s her quote regarding both studios: “Both of these studios are hot, and I’m confident our webmasters will love adding their DVD content to their websites.”  You gotta love the internet man…only there would a low-end studio be treated like Evil Angel.  Next I hear Content Bandit is going after high-end feature studio Leisure Time!

-Jesse Jane and Stoya are on the cover of the new Cheri magazine.  I wonder if the mag will be available at regular cover price, or if they’ll have to adjust for the added ink costs.  Ya know, because everytime they say Stoya or Jesse Jane, Digital Playground insists they put a “TM” after the name.  That’s a lot of ink man!

-Veronica Rayne, AKA the mean one on My Bare Lady 2, is launching her website.  Hey…a porno girl with a website…what a concept!  But only time will tell if this is the perfect marriage of silicone and silicon…..or just another porn girl website.  However, if the site does really take off, I’m sure you’ll be able to find a siterip on one of the sites AVN Ads supports.  And for those of you not in the know, a siterip is where someone will download every single thing on your pay site and then upload it to one of the piracy sites.  And then Adult Friend Finder, Brazzers, Fling.com or AVN Ads will come along and put money into that site’s pockets.

-Penthouse, the biggest financier of adult online piracy, is having a party.  I think it’s a “we’ve successfully fucked the entire industry” party.  They are also celebrating their latest 2 titles “Liar’s Club” and “Scandelous”, which are as fitting a name for Penthouse titles as you can get.  I went on Adult Friend Finder.com to find a date for the party, but turns out the site is just full of porn spam and hookers.  And I’m just not paying for a AFF Hooker.  Hey Marc Bell, CEO of Penthouse, can I get an industry discount on one of your AFF escorts?

Speaking of Penthouse…I see our industry had our little pointless piracy seminar the other day.  I’ve got some shit to say about that…stay tuned for a future article on PornNewz about it.
